The inaugural and first-ever Insurance IoT specific conference took place in Miami last year. This year, the event organizer – Insurance Nexus – have moved the forum to Chicago on November 15-16 at the Hilton Suites Magnificent Mile.

The Summit – Insurance IoT USA – is a two-day event bringing over 200 insurers and IoT service providers together to talk about how to adapt to the changes that a connected world will bring. It is the only event focusing specifically on IoT for the insurance industry.

“Understanding how the evolving IoT ecosystem can work alongside the traditional insurance business model is something

that is imperative for insurers to remain competitive,” explains Marsha Irving, Head of Innovation and Senior Conference Director at Insurance Nexus.

In a recent survey by Insurance Nexus of two-hundred insurers, over 90% agreed that IoT would revolutionize their industry. The introduction of IoT is a radical change for a steadfast industry steeped in legacy systems, siloed operational channels and traditional customer interaction models. In another survey by Insurance Nexus, only 50% of three-hundred insurers said that they had a strategy for IoT deployment in their business.

Mike Mogadam the Global Business Development Director for IoT and M2M at Samsung Mobile attended the event last year, he described it as a “targeted and effective venue for OEMs and solution providers to understand the requirements of the insurance providers with IoT.”

The event is to feature over fifty speakers and sixteen sessions on the connected car, home, lifestyle, business and more. With topics specific to regulation, investment, operational strategy, cyber security, customer service, user experience, data management, AI and automated services – the event moves discussions from IoT champions to company-wide adoption.

At the inaugural summit last year, the event hosted representatives from AIG, Allstate, American Family, AT&T, Berkshire Hathaway, Esurance, Hartford Steam Boiler, John Hancock, Liberty Mutual, Progressive, ROC Connect, Roost, Samsung, State Farm, Swiss Re, USAA, Zonoff and many more.
